Today marks the winter solstice in the Northern hemisphere; the shortest day and longest night, and the slow turning of the seasonal tide. To me, it feels like relief and renewal. It is darkness and light, cosy and fresh. And it’s the sweet, hopeful promise of brighter days ahead.
